We don't want your help. We don't want your taxes, don't come into our homes anytime you want to. Leave us alone! We refuse to be under your king anymore. You can't tell us what to do! The Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, and announced the separation of the 13 colonies from Great Britain. It explained why Congress on July 2 unanimously by the votes of 12 colonies (New York abstained) had determined that we are free and you have to leave us alone. This means that Great Britain no longer controls us.
You are our colonies and you will do what King George said to do. We will continue to fight for you. No one leaves the British Empire.
